SHANGHAI, China—Wednesday September 26, 2017 —Means Industries Inc. was featured as one of the presenters at the 2017 CTI Shanghai Automotive Transmission Symposium.
Carl Beiser, Technical Business Manager for Clutch Systems, gave his presentation entitled “World’s 1st Production Selectable One-Way Clutch for Automatic Transmissions” on September 26th.
“China's NEV market is growing at a faster pace than the rest of the world which made the CTI China Symposium an ideal setting to learn more about electrification trends and future customer demand,” said Carl. “We continue to receive a great deal of interest from world-class powertrain designers about new CMD applications, and look forward to further exploring these opportunities within the Chinese market.”
Means was one of just 8 suppliers to win a GM Innovation Award in 2016 for the first-to-market Controllable Mechanical Diode (CMD) Selectable One-Way Clutch. Means was also one of 20 finalists nominated for a 2016 PACE Award.
The CTI Symposium in Shanghai is a unique event where global leaders in automotive transmission design and manufacturing convene to identify innovations in the field of transmissions, drive systems, components and development methods, as well as market-specific requirements and global prospects. Means was one of nearly 50 exhibitors on hand to showcase powertrain component technology at the two-day event.
